European flight novelties
(I wrote this on Friday night regarding the flight from Prague to Frankfurt.)
The RyanAir flight was entertaining. There was no assigned seating, and it just so happened that the one empty seat on the flight was on our row, so we got to pile our stuff in the middle seat. Robin slept the whole flight instead of doing homework, so I’ll have to kick him.
They passed out a menu that had real-looking cooked food on it. It seemed reasonably priced except that the bag of peanuts was 2 euros - absurd. Then they announced that there’s no smoking on the flight, but that they were selling smokeless cigarettes in various flavors. The guy came down the aisle holding up the boxes.
The next offering was a scratch-off ticket from which you could win cars or cash or free flights, and furthermore by purchasing a ticket you’re benefiting hungry children. Think of the children; win prizes!
The seats didn’t recline and there was no seatback pocket, but the RyanAir magazine was much more entertaining than the Continental magazine I’m used to, and anyhow I spent most of the flight writing a (different) blog post for you fine people.
I will leave you with a picture of the seatback in front of me:
